Ways to Support this Religious Order and its Mission of Authentic Renewal in the Church, Spiritual Education, and Moral Formation

Strictly observing religious poverty and so living in dependence on the material support of the lay faithful, the sacrifice of our consecrated religious lives cannot exist without your sacrifice of charitable alms and tithing. The Hermits of Our Lady of Mount Carmel are spiritually rich but materially poor. God is raising up many vocations to our community and we greatly need to build our Novitiate Monastery in Fairfield to be able to train dozens of religious brothers and priests to serve elsewhere in the country in our other foundations. Will you contribute to our work and so participate in our holy mission and its eternal merits?

It IS the saints That show us the way of Christian perfection

" An instant of pure love is more precious in the eyes of God and the soul, and more profitable to the Church, than all other good works together, though it may seem as if nothing were done...In the evening of life we will be judged on [divine] love alone."
St. john of the cross
Doctor of the Church
I feel called to thePriesthood and to the Apostolate—I would be a Martyr, a Doctor of the Church. I should like to accomplish the most heroic deeds—the spirit of the Crusader burns within me, and I long to die on the field of battle in defense of Holy Church.
St. Thérèse of Lisieux
Doctor of the Church
In order to be an image of God, the spirit must turn to what is eternal, hold it in spirit, keep it in memory, and by loving it, embrace it in the will...The unbounded loving surrender to God and God's return gift, full and enduring union, this is the highest elevation of the heart attainable, the highest level of prayer. Souls who have attained it are truly the heart of the church, and in them lives Jesus' high priestly love. Hidden with Christ in God, they can do nothing but radiate to other hearts the divine love that fills them and so participate in the gathering and perfecting all things into unity in God, which was and is Jesus' great desire.
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross
Philosopher and Carmelite Martyr
As Christ does not force our will, He only takes what we give Him, but He does not give Himself entirely until He sees that we yield ourselves entirely to Him...The chief point is that we should resolutely give Him our heart for His own and should empty it of everything else, that He may take out or put in whatever He pleases as if it were His own property.
St. Teresa of Avila
Doctor of the Church
Perfection consists in the likeness of our soul to the divine mind and life, that is God; and this greater and more perfect likeness consists of the most excellent and most pure contemplation and most fervent love of God. This is also proven by this reason: it is certain that for all the evangelical counsels and the Christian life, the goal is the perfect fulfillment of charity and divine love.
Thomas of Jesus
Ven. Thomas of Jesus
Founder of the Carmelite Deserts, Mystic, and Theologian
It seems to me that I have found Heaven on earth, since Heaven is God, and God is in my soul. The day I understood that, everything became clear to me. I would like to whisper this secret to those I love so they too might always cling to God through everything.
St. Elizabeth of the Trinity
Carmelite Nun and Mystic
